SEMINAR ON IPTV : Over the past decade, the growth of satellite services, the advent of digital television and the birth of HDTV all left their mark on the television landscape. Now, a new delivery method threatens to shake things even more powerful. Internet (IPTV) has arrived, and sustained by pockets of the telecommunications industry, it is ready to offer more interactivity and bring a healthy dose of competition to the sale of television.
IPTV - Internet Protocol Television - refers to the delivery of digital television and other audio and video over data networks, broadband using the same basic protocols that support the Internet.
IPTV describes a system capable of receiving and displaying a video stream encoded as a series of Internet Protocol packets. If you've ever watched a video on the computer that used an IPTV system in its broadest sense. Most people talk about IPTV, however, are talking traditional channels on television, where people demand a soft, high resolution without delay, and that phone companies are jumping in head first in this market.Once known only to telephone companies, telephone companies now want to change the "triple play" voice, data and video that will retire in half and secure them in the batters box.
In this paper, we first need to define the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), the difference between conventional cable TV and IPTV, and IPTV service providers. We also focus on exactly how IPTV works, advantages and limitations, and even some of its applications. We will also see some of the privacy and security.
