SEMINAR ON Electronic commerce : Electronic commerce, known as e-commerce or electronic commerce involves the buying and selling products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. The volume of trade conducted electronically has grown extraordinarily since the spread of the Internet. A wide range of negotiation is going this way, spurring and drawing on innovations in electronic trasfer funds management, supply chain, Internet marketing, electronic data interchange (EDI), control systems inventory and automated data collection. Modern electronic commerce typically uses the World Wide Web at least at some point in the lifecycle of the transaction, although it can encompass a wide range of technologies such as e-mail as well.
A small part of e-commerce is fully electronic "virtual" elements, such as access to premium content site, but most electronic commerce involves the transportation of physical items in some way. Online retailers are sometimes known as e-tailers and online retail is known as e-tail.
Electronic commerce that takes place between businesses, called Business-to-business or B2B. B2B can be open to all interested parties
