4G TECHNOLOGY

Seminar on 4G TECHNOLOGY : This article describes the architecture for differentiation of quality service in heterogeneous wired-wireless networks. This architecture applies to "all IP" paradigm, with integrated mobility of users. This architecture allows multiple types of access networks, and allows users roaming b/w different areas of the operator domains. This 4G architecture discussed in this document, based on IPv6, to support seamless mobility in various access techniques. Mobility is a serious problem in such an environment, because inter-technology handovers have to be supported. In our case, we aimed Ethernet (802.3) for wired access i.e cable connection, Wi-Fi (802.11b) for Wireless LAN and W-CDMA -The Radio Interface of UMTS - to cellular Access. The architecture is able to provide QoS per user and per service An integrated service and resource management approach is presented based on the cooperative association between QoS brokers and authentication, authorization , accounting and charging systems. The different phases of QoS operation is discussed. The overall concepts of quality of service provided with some relevant improvements, especially voice services. Specifically, EF simulations results are discussed in this context.
